The problem we kept running into
Solo women travelling to temple towns like Tiruvannamalai face a real problem: the best local stays are unlisted, unverified, and invisible. OTAs show chain hotels and resorts. The trusted homestay — run by a local family who knows every priest and every shortcut to the Girivalam path — stays hidden, found only by word of mouth.
Why SIVAR exists
SIVAR was built to change that. We set out to surface every verified homestay, lodge, and retreat near India's sacred destinations — verified for safety, designed for conscious travellers, and backed by local women who know the land.
